Our environment is in jeopardy. Climate change; fires, floods, drought affect our most important neighbor; plants.
This series is a collection of landscapes that discuss the relationship of our natural worlds condition and possible breakdown or disillusion of what we have all taken for granted. This narrative is about this dilemma that humans find themselves in. The plants themselves act as individual characters. Most are stressed by this overwhelming, somewhat dark future or symbolic veil that descends upon them. This veil covers them like webs.
The images start as silver gelatin photograms that are put into an acidic bleaching bath, Mordancage. The process is relatively rare and few artists work with it. It is a photographic process but borrows much from print makers.
